PEOPLE FOR NATURE AND PEACE

ABOUT this report

Efforts to save polar bears have focused primarily on the ongoing challenges posed by climate change. In contrast, the more immediate threats resulting from trophy hunting and the international trade in polar bear skins have received comparatively little attention. The data presented in this report clearly signal that the growing international trade in polar bear skins poses a serious and largely unrecognized threat to polar bears.  which must be recognized and addressed as an urgent conservation priority.
